What We Love....

This Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe is probably one of our most used recipes! I love to pull it out and make a batch for neighbors and our local sheriff or just for a special treat when we play a game. We either eat them right out of the oven; soft, gooey and hot (because we can't wait for them to cool!) or the next day with a cold glass of milk...perfect for dunking!

Sometimes the boys will drop a hint: "It feels like a cookie kinda' night!" And more than likely, out will come that recipe.

~Chocolate Chip Cookies~

You Will Need:

2 and 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of salt (I put 1/2 teaspoon more of salt for some extra salty-sweet flavor)
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups (12 oz. package) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to: 375.

Combine: Flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl.

Beat: Butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. (I also know that some of us like nuts, so if you want, go ahead and put them in now.) Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake: For 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes (or not!).

Continue baking and consuming till all cookies are gone:) Enjoy!
