Labor Day...

We headed South on 98. Destination: Uncle Benny's house. It was hot and muggy, but we were ready for a fun, cousin-filled day. It reminds me of the children's book, "When the Relatives Came". Almost every one of the family would be there for the first time in what has seemed a very long time! We missed Josh and Heather and our cousin BJ who is on deployment. The little boys piled out of our big blue van and ran into our Uncle and Aunt's backyard where they were surprised with a bouncy house rented just for that day. The little cousins were shy together at first, but by the end of the day were practically inseparable! Hugging and laughing and eating together! Into the kitchen went potato salad and watermelon, adding to the already enormous amount of yummy food...it's Huron tradition:) We visited at the grill, took turns on the swings in the yard, bounced in the bouncy house and meandered into the kitchen again...and again, to "sample" the homemade salsas. Later, after everyone was just as full as they could be, out came the games! And it wasn't just for the little ones:) We laughed till the tears started to catch in our laugh lines. You did know that right? That they're laugh lines? Not wrinkle lines?

It was late when we loaded up our big blue van and headed north to home. Thinking of all the hugs, laughs, food and how life moves and changes and continues...we can't wait for next time.

A Huron gathering isn't the same without Aunt Treasure's games!

If you only knew how loud and competitive we are. The dogs slept on.

This little guy stole my heart...
