Saltines Not Grahams...

Well, we did it. We had our first official bonfire of the season! We dug out the marshmallow sticks (that's what we've always called them anyway) and decided hot dogs and sausage would look pretty good on them too. And maybe roasted potatoes with butter, salt, sour cream, bacon all the toppings to go with them! We singed our finger tips trying to toast the sausage till it was crispy, but after we put it between a hot fresh biscuit and took our first bite, we barely noticed our fingers anymore:)

Nice and big the fire was. Crackly and snappy. The perfect orangey red. We added all our pine needles to it too. It gave it a nice big, five second blaze;) Our dog, Happy, hid between our legs when the flames got too big for her, but then ran around nipping at the small ashes floating through the air. Yes, it was a great first bonfire.

Oh! And if you trade your Graham crackers for Saltines when you do your S'mores...well um, you may not go back to Graham crackers. Try it and see.

Ball jars and checkered tablecloths go together perfectly, don't you think?

Ingredients for S'mores with polka dot cups to match:)

My Mama is amazing...

Our new dog Happy.

Just a little closer...
