Those That Put Their Trust in Thee....

Dear Faithful Readers....
The first day started with challenges concerning the exchange of money. It took longer than expected and there were hurdles....nothing too great for God! The Lord's servants at the ready and in every place came forward to help. Money was changed and the bulk food store even agreed to accept our North American dollars and blessed with a discount! Praises!
An enormous amount of food was purchased and unloaded from the truck. Quote from Pastor Santiago's text: "The Lord showed Himself STRONG in behalf of his needy people."
Here is the Lord's servant Fidencio and one of our team members, Gabriel, unloading the heavy bags.

The bags were then opened and organized into 75 family bundles and then additional smaller ones. Anita sent a text listing the items:

8 lb. Beans
8 lb. Rice
2 lb. Pasta
2 Bags Sugar
6 Bags Flour
8 lb. Corn
Large Tub of Lard
Cumin
Chicken Broth
Instant Ramen Noodles
1 Bar Soap
2 Rolls Toilet Paper
Toothpaste
Dish Soap
Laundry Soap

 "Our verse for this morning!"
Psalm 5:11 "But let all those that put their trust in Thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love Thy name be joyful in Thee."
"We are at the big supermarket now buying food. We just made a purchase and are waiting in the van. Super hot today, but there is a breeze, so it's really nice."
Mr. Hopping and Pastor Alfonso
"Leti has been helping with the cooking every night, so tonight we gave her Genesis' pictures. I wish I could send that video...she was so grateful and just started crying. It was very emotional for everyone...but so very sweet. The pictures were like gold to them and I wish I had more to give!"
By way of explanation....Leti is a young mother whom we had met on our trip last February. I (Ana) held her tiny infant and showed her to my friend Judy. We immediately discerned great physical need with this baby. She was sick and needed help right away. Months of care and hospital stays followed for this little baby. Jesus took little Genesis home to be with Him last summer. We were unspeakably saddened and yet, could rejoice in our short acquaintance with her. Anita's pictures are the only ones in existence of her. We wish we had had more.....

Pastor Huron is in the foreground with Pastor Alfonzo and the entire team. Maria Luz, the Pastor's wife is an untiring servant.
The language of the tongue is a slight barrier, but the language of the heart speaks in a steady flow.
From Pastor Huron's text:
"I don't really think that I'll ever be able to thank everyone that has made this possible.
He (Pastor Alfonzo) said that our coming means the world to them
and that the church truly misses us when we are not there...
that our coming reminded them that Jesus knew their need...
and that there is HOPE in HIM."
"Jessica wanted some instant coffee...it was so funny all of us trying to talk to this lady about instant coffee! Jessica got along quite well... she knows a good bit of Spanish!"
Nescafe Clasico! purchased from a "pulperia", small stores set up under eaves of humble homes or homemade stands erected right on the streets. Interesting treasures can be found in these pulperias, including the ever-needed WATER, enjoyed here by brother and sister, Ariana and Gabriel.
The goodness of simple food! This is a "baleada", the Honduran taco. These tortillas are fashioned in such a unique way....lightning quick movements of the hand to form uniform disks and toasted to perfection. Fresh eggs from the accommodating chickens outside and the freshest avocados ever.
Is your mouth watering?

Pray....will you?
For a day of blessing in witnessing door to door.
For the distribution of these bags of food.
For the meeting at the church in the evening to minister to those seeking help.
For clarity of communication.
For the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to enter hungry hearts.

"And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart
and of one soul:
neither said any of them that aught of the things which he possessed
was his own;
but they had all things in common."
Acts 4:32
